How the Wathinwanit family fits together
The Thai title of the anthology, บ้านวาทินวณิช (Baan Wathinwanit), means the Wathinwanit house. That house is the thread running through all four series.
The four leads are cousins rather than sisters, a detail the novels are specific about: their fathers are brothers, which is why they share a surname, a family home and a great deal of history without having grown up under the same roof.
Each cousin is known by a nickname that names an element — Din is earth, Nam is water, Lom is air, Fai is fire — and each of the four novels by Salmon, and each of the four series adapted from them, belongs to one of them. The result is four self-contained love stories that share a world, so a viewer can start anywhere and still pick up the family along the way.
Every rating, air date and chart placement for all four series is tracked on the 4 Elements ratings hub at FreenBecky Media, our sister site, alongside the anthology's global impact record.
