The Water story: Nam and Chonlada

Apo "Nam" Wathinwanit is the water cousin, and the one running the family's hotel business inside the Watin Group. She is sharp, composed and used to being underestimated.

Chonlada "Lada" Kunanon arrives as a chaotic new receptionist. She is actually the secret daughter of the tycoon Pheemdet Watcharadecha, carrying her mother Chutimon's surname and planted by the rival Watcharadecha family to sabotage the hotel from the inside. Nam reads her almost immediately and plays along anyway, partly to control the damage and partly to keep Lada away from the people who sent her.

Water takes the shape of whatever holds it. So does a spy who stops wanting to leave.

The Water is the second of four series, following The Earth and leading into The Air. Nam also appears across her cousins' stories — see the Wathinwanit family for how they connect.

ชาล็อต ออสติน

Charlotte is a Thai-British actress and model from Phuket, born 21 December 1998. She studied tourism management at Prince of Songkla University before competing at Miss Grand Thailand 2022, where she placed as a runner-up and where fans first paired her with Engfa.

That pairing led both of them to Show Me Love in 2023, the first original Thai GL production, and EngLot has been one of the genre's defining duos since. The Water is their return to a leading role together.

EngLot: the couple at the center of The Water

Engfa and Charlotte met on the Miss Grand Thailand stage in 2022, and the audience did the rest. Fans paired them almost immediately, the pairing outgrew the pageant, and within a year they were leading Show Me Love — the series widely credited as the first original Thai GL production rather than an adaptation.

By the time 4 Elements cast them, EngLot was one of two veteran GL pairings in the project, which is a large part of why the anthology could sell itself internationally as a first of its kind.

How The Water connects to the other 4 Elements series

Each of the four series is a complete story with its own villain, its own setting and its own ending — you can watch The Water without having seen The Earth. What links them is the family. Din, Nam, Lom and Fai are cousins, their fathers are brothers, and each cousin looks after a different corner of the Wathinwanit world: farmland in Chiang Rai, the family hotel, a commission in uniform, and the Akanee Group.

That is why the cousins keep appearing in each other's episodes rather than being name-dropped. Lom turns up at the hotel in the very first episode of The Water, and the crossovers continue from there.

Nam in The Earth

Before The Water begins, Nam is already around — she appears throughout the first series while Din and Rose's fake marriage plays out on the farms in Chiang Rai. Open The Earth.

The Water stands alone

Nam's own story is self-contained: the hotel, the Watcharadecha plant inside it, and a business rivalry that belongs to this series rather than the anthology as a whole.

Lom in The Water

Air's lead is in this series from episode one — Lom drops by the hotel, takes an immediate interest in the new receptionist, and gets shut down by Nam. It stays a running joke: Lom's own story is The Air, with Becky Armstrong's Princess Blew.

Nam in The Fire

Nam appears again in the finale series, making Engfa the only lead credited in all four. Open The Fire.

The cousins, their partners and every crossover we've confirmed are mapped out on the Wathinwanit family page. Watching in broadcast order — Earth, Water, Air, Fire — is the way the introductions were designed to land.

The Water OST

Two tracks, one for each lead, both written by Paween Wongrat. Swap in the official MV links when you add them.

The Water episode guide

Eight Saturdays on Channel 7 HD. Open an episode for its recap — spoilers for that episode inside.

1Episode 1Saturday 21 March 2026Recap

Nam runs the Monarch, the Watin Group's flagship hotel, and opens the series by tearing apart her own security drill. A guest named Lada loses a phone in the crossfire, and days later turns up on the payroll — placed at the front desk by her half-brother Pat, with orders to help claw back land the Watin Group took from their family. Her first shift breaks half the dress code and nearly costs her the job, until she talks her way out of it and then dives into the pool to recover a guest's belongings. Nam's cousin Lom drops by, takes an immediate interest in the new receptionist, and gets shut down.

2Episode 2Saturday 28 March 2026Recap

Lada falls asleep on shift, Nam takes her somewhere quieter, and by morning the whole staff has decided they are dating. The rumor reaches the top of the company, where it is met with approval rather than alarm, which suits nobody. To kill it, Lada asks to be moved up to Preem's assistant, and Nam signs off. The new role puts her beside Nam at a meeting with a Michelin chef the hotel is courting — witnessed by Pheempat of the Watcharadecha Group, who wants the details of that deal. Lada reports back that Nam does not trust her yet, and promises to keep working on it. Nam calls that night to make sure she took something for the rain, then insists it was self-interest.

3Episode 3Saturday 4 April 2026Recap

With Preem out sick, Lada covers the desk and ends up in a late-night argument with Nam about which dish should headline the chef's launch. Nam drives her home, they eat at a roadside stall, and the pretense of a purely professional distance gets harder to hold. Nam's father tells her to hold on to the people in front of her. Pat raises the stakes: sabotage the launch, or he tells their mother what Lada is really doing at the hotel. Nam notices she has gone quiet and tries to draw it out of her. Lada picks the dress Nam wears to the event, and the launch goes ahead — with guests falling ill before the episode ends.

4Episode 4Saturday 11 April 2026Recap

Contaminated ice in the drinks turns the launch into a scandal. Lada blames herself; Nam tells her the chef and the hotel will front a press conference and take it on the chin. Pat tries to steer Lada toward a suitor, Nam intercepts, and the two of them end the night eating instant noodles in Lada's apartment with everything unsaid sitting between them. Lada starts pulling away — turning down dinner, refusing even a call button Nam wants her to carry. With the branch underperforming, Pat's father talks about selling, and Pat leans on Lada again. Nam, shut out, sleeps at the hotel.

5Episode 5Saturday 18 April 2026Recap

Nam invites Lada home for dinner with her father's encouragement, then sends flowers. Lada turns her down and says the job comes first, and Nam apologizes and retreats to being a boss. The Watcharadecha side demands she wreck the Watin Group's private event; when she refuses, they tell her they will handle it themselves. At the event Lada clocks a stranger in the crowd, gets lured to the garden by a fake message, and Nam reaches her before it goes badly. Hidden in a lounge, Nam says it again — and this time Lada answers. Dinner with Nam's family follows, along with the private names they only use for each other, and Nam asks to meet Lada's parents.

6Episode 6Saturday 25 April 2026Recap

The bid is the breaking point. Pat threatens their mother's safety to force Lada to hand over the Watin Group's bidding data, so she hands over numbers that are wrong, and the Watin Group wins the tourism contract. Pat exposes her publicly and boasts that her feelings were the weapon — and Nam says, in front of everyone, that she worked out who Lada was long ago and stayed anyway. Lada walks out into the rain and goes to her friend Nade, unable to sit with what she did. Nam's friends talk her into fighting for her. Then Lada's father uses her mother against her again, this time to push her into a marriage she does not want.

7Episode 7Saturday 2 May 2026Recap

Cornered by what her father claims her mother did years ago, Lada agrees to marry Kirk. On the day, Nam and the others stage a distraction and get her out, and she hides with her mother at a guesthouse called End Loneliness. Lom finds her first and passes on Nam's message, which Lada refuses. Nam comes herself, clears up what happened at the bid, and tells her the truth her father buried: the man her mother hurt defending herself survived, and the hush money was only ever leverage. She offers a ring. Lada says no, and Nam falls apart quietly enough to resign.

8Episode 8Saturday 9 May 2026Recap

Nam's resignation turns out to be a test, and Lada finally stops arguing with herself and says yes. They marry in front of family and friends, with vows that both of them clearly mean. Three months on, the Watcharadecha Group collapses under Pat's forged signature and illegal guarantees, and Lada's father is rushed into surgery. Nam suggests Lada take over as hotel manager, and after some pushing she takes the job and grows into it — while Nam finds new and petty reasons to be jealous. The series closes with the two of them at an art exhibition, talking about names for children.
